Since January 2009, Friends of Family Farmers has organized and hosted InFARMations, educational events that bring eaters and farmers together to talk about the most pressing issues facing Oregon’s family farms and sustainable local food systems.
Through InFARMation, Friends of Family Farmers brings the issues that Oregon family farmers face onto the radar of urban consumers and the broader community. The topics always aim to inspire engagement in our food system, and to illuminate the connection between consumers and sustainable, family-scale agriculture. We firmly believe that both eaters and farmers have a stake in the food system, and when eaters connect directly with farmers, it makes our local and regional food systems stronger and makes real change possible.
“Eating is an agricultural act.” – Wendell Berry
In addition to Portland, we’ve held InFARMation in communities across the state including Salem, Bend, Corvallis, McMinnville, Eugene and Grants Pass.
If you have a suggestion for a topic, or would like to bring InFARMation to your part of Oregon, please email us! Stay tuned!
