Description:

A small family farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, raising happy animals in a diverse habitat. Our guiding principles dwell at the peaceful intersection of biodynamics and permaculture.

We have a highly diverse site (pasture, forest, and wetland), and raise diverse livestock in small family groups (fowl, cows, pigs, and sheep).

Production Practices:

We hold ourselves up to the “no weird stuff” pledge started by Vermont’s Sugar Mountain Farm. We use rotational grazing practices and avoid chemicals of any kind, if possible.

Grazing, Pasture and Nutrient Management Practices:

Animals have access to pasture all year. We currently use a mixture of “free range” and rotation, in which animals have access to a common corridor at all times and have access to a current pasture patch that is rotated with an 8 week rotation.

For soil management, we do pasture rotation, soil testing, adjusting of minerals available to animals depending on soil testing, and soil amending when possible and feasible.

Environmental Conservation:

We have been grant recipients for soil and water enhancement from the Marion Soil Water Conservation District.

Animal Welfare Approved; AWA and grassfed by AGW pending approval.
