FoFF mostly focuses on statewide policy but Congress is currently drafting the Farm Bill and they need to hear from you! We need you to contact your Members of Congress this week and urge them to prioritize farmer-led natural climate solutions in the 2023 Farm Bill. This is a key time for those of us who want to see a more sustainable, equitable farm and food system.

I’m reaching out as your constituent. I understand that both the House and Senate are working on their mark ups of the Farm Bill right now.

Please do all you can to prioritize prioritize farmer-led natural climate solutions in the 2023 Farm Bill by supporting these priorities:

-State Assistance for Soil Health, which would provide funding for states to implement soil health programs
-The Healthy Soils Healthy Climate Act, which would fund research and financial incentives for carbon sequestering soil health practices
-Keeping the $20 billion for farm conservation programs from Inflation Reduction Act in Title II of the Farm Bill
