Dear Friends,

We are writing to you today not just as Co-Directors of Friends of Family Farmers – but as Oregonians and fellow farmers and farm advocates who care deeply about the vitality of Oregon’s agricultural future.

We came to this work from different paths – Alice as an organic farmer with interest in policy work, and Natalie as a lifelong Oregonian, food systems worker, and long-time advocate for sustainable food systems. But we share this: we believe Oregon’s future depends on the success of its small and mid-sized farmers.

The past year has shown us just how essential grassroots support is. Thanks to the support of FoFF Members, donors, partners, advocates and the farmers who stand with us, we have made landmark changes to laws that dictate who is allowed to grow food for sale in Oregon, represented the smallest growers in the discussions of how on farm sales work, gotten our lawmakers to listen to growers on the need for further investment in community food systems, and stood with farmworkers asking for a voice in the laws that dictate their safety.

We want to be clear: This work is only possible because people like you step up.

Big Ag has deep pockets – we have you. Our grassroots advocacy work is grassroots funded by individuals – and with the uncertainties of the future, we need your ongoing support to maintain a seat at the table in Salem, respond effectively to unforeseen challenges, and continue to build a just and resilient food system – for every Oregonian.

We are asking you to become a FoFF Member, providing a monthly donation to support our work. Even $10 monthly makes a difference in contributing to the work that we do. It’s the BEST way to ensure we have the resources we need to fight for Oregon’s farm future.

Now is the time to strengthen our movement – thank you for standing with us for Oregon’s family farms. We are grateful for you.

In partnership and with gratitude,

Alice Morrison & Natalie Danielson
Co-directors, Friends of Family Farmers
