Portland Fill Your Pantry: Harvest Pop-Up

We are excited to announce Fill Your Pantry: Harvest Pop-Up Market Event!

It is brought to you by a coalition of local food system non-profit organizations: Friends of Family Farmers, Slow Food Portland, Come Thru Market, Oregon Farmers Market Association, OSU Small Farms, Culinary Breeding Network, Cook First and numerous Portland-area farmers markets.

A Portland Fill Your Pantry Harvest Pop-Up will be happening at various Portland area farmers markets during the weekend of November 20-21, celebrating the seasonal abundance of the harvest. Produce and products will be available to purchase directly from the farmers during the Pop-Ups so you can freeze, can, dry, eat, prepare, and share your purchase of fresh food to extend your enjoyment of autumn products. By investing in locally produced food, you invest in local businesses. Every dollar spent at these farmers market pop-up events goes directly to the folks who grow and harvest your food. Note: there will be no pre-orders for this event.

The Harvest Pop-Up Market event is to center and support Black, Brown, and Indigenous farmers and offer support to BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ farmers.

Featured Farmers:

Another Spring Farm: Join us at the Harvest pop-up to meet Serena from @anotherspringfarm. Another Spring Farm is for people of color, by people of color working for the liberation of all peoples who have been oppressed and marginalized in our current systems. We are working towards this liberation through food. This work aims to nourish those who come in contact with us at any level. Creating space for us to work with the land, to feed and heal ourselves, to play among flowers and rest when full.

Serena is a Black and Japanese queer femme creator and farmer farming on half an acre growing veggies, flowers and herbs.

Moorish Roots: Devoted to the cultivation, elevation and protection of Earth and Man. Moorish Roots is a Black-owned farm just entering our local food system after spending time working in farmer training programs including Mudbone Grown’s Boots 2 Roots. Employing ancient ways of Bio-integrated farming such as vermicomposting, biochar production and compost teas into their practices, they are devoted to the ways of farming that replenish and nurture the land rather than merely producing produce. They are ready to meet you at local farmers markets, come on out and give @moorishroots a big welcome!

Tutuilla True Fish: @tutuillatrue is a Native-owned and operated fishery in Oregon, fishing East up the Columbia River in the tradition of their ancestors. Tutuilla True uses indigenous ways of knowing and being, methods that promote conservation and healthy fish populations. Studies show that supporting indigenous fishing and salmon management practices will yield the strongest conservation results. Get started today, visit a Harvest Pop-up to connect with Tutuilla True!

After the Harvest Pop-Up join us for the full Fill Your Pantry winter market series in December to continue stocking up on the abundance of fall and winter veggies and storage crops.
